The City of Richmond and Radio One Holiday Toy Drive will brighten Richmond area youth’s holidays this year. Mayor Dwight C. Jones is asking residents to please take a moment to think of those less fortunate during the holiday season and help bring a smile to a child’s face!
Donate new unwrapped toys, books and clothes to any of the following locations by Thursday, December 13 at 3 p.m.:
any City fire station
City Hall (900 East Broad Street)
Department of Social Services Marshall Street Plaza (900 East Marshall Street)
Southside Community Services Center (4100 Hull Street Road)
East District Initiative (701 North 25th Street)
Radio One will accept donations at the Walmart Supercenter located at 2410 Sheila Lane, December 11-13; from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Donations will be distributed to children in need within the metro-Richmond community.
Also, as part of the Mayor’s Neighbor to Neighbor initiative, volunteers are needed on Friday, December 14 to assist with toy distribution at the Arthur Ashe Center. To volunteer for this opportunity, please visit the Neighbor to Neighbor website for the volunteer application and more details.
