~City agency is partnering with FDIC to offer new 10-module course~
The City’s Minority Business Development (MBD) office is currently accepting applications from companies interested in participating in the agency’s newest technical assistance program. MBD is working with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to present a 10-module business course called Money Smart for Small Businesses. The curriculum provides introductory training for new and aspiring entrepreneurs on the basics of organizing and managing a business.
MBD will hold a brief informational session on March 12, 2013 at Virginia Union University in room 203 of Pickford Hall. This 45-minute session will begin promptly at 9 a.m. The session will describe the program, participant’s responsibilities, benefits and the participant selection process.
Interested businesses should pick up an application at the March 12 session or at the MBD office, which is located on the 5th floor of City Hall, room 501. The deadline to receive all completed applications is 5:30 p.m. on April 1, 2013.
