The City’s Office of Minority Business Development invites entrepreneurs to learn the basics of launching a crowdfunding campaign by registering for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s two-part educational workshop. The two-part workshop will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4 and Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each evening. Workshops will be held in the training room of the SunTrust Mortgage headquarters, 910 Semmes Avenue.
Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via the internet. The crowdfunding workshops will cover the basic tools necessary to create a successful campaign, such as setting expectations, budgeting, advertising and creating a story video. Carl Knoblock, Virginia District Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration, will facilitate the workshops.
Registration is required to attend the workshops and seating is limited. Register online at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0A49A4AD23A3F85-introduction or contact the City’s Office of Minority Business Development at (804) 646-5947 for more information.
