The City of Richmond, in cooperation with GRTC Transit System, is seeking input from local residents to help shape the future of transit for the Greater RVA area via a brief, anonymous survey, https://rtnp.metroquest.com/.

The Richmond Transit Network Plan team developed a range of bus route concepts for the city and seeks feedback from the community on these designs. As Richmond continues to grow, one of the most important topics is how to continue to make the city a great place to live, work and play. This includes advancing public transit to meet the increasing ridership and coverage needs while remaining cost effective.

The survey closes on September 26 and only takes a few minutes to complete. There is also a short introductory video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTuyKRBsJ7I, that describes the importance of this project and its ability to move Richmond public transit forward. People are encouraged to watch this video before taking the survey.

The results of the community-input process will be a part of the Transit Network Plan for the City of Richmond that may be implemented as early as 2017. For more information on the plan, visit the www.richmondtransitnetwork.com.

Background: The Richmond Transit Network Plan team is a group comprised of city officials and local transit organization members formed to address the city’s growing transportation needs. Over the summer, the City invited residents, businesses and stakeholders to a series of public meetings during the second phase of outreach for the Richmond Transit Network Plan. This plan analyzes the current bus routes and asks the public to weigh options on how transit could serve the city.
