The City of Richmond invites the community to the 8th annual Imagine Festival at Broad Rock Park, 4802 Warwick Road, on Saturday, October 20, from noon to 5 p.m. This year’s Imagine Festival will feature dance performances, arts, crafts, exhibitors, diverse food vendors, and fun activities for the entire family. Ten local community groups will perform throughout the day and approximately 30 area organizations will be providing information about their services, to include free health screenings through the Una Vida Sana program, dental screenings through the Richmond City Health District Richmond Smiles Dental Van, and a variety of sports, such as soccer and softball. Admission to this community and family event is free.
“The Imagine Festival helps us celebrate and unite diverse communities in a positive environment. It also provides a perfect opportunity for the community to come together with several City departments in a fun engaging atmosphere. I hope families throughout Richmond will come and enjoy this unique event,” said Mayor Dwight C. Jones.
The Imagine Festival began in 2005 as a community outreach event sponsored by Richmond’s Gang Reduction and Intervention Program. Since then, the City has sponsored the festival, which has grown larger with each year. This year’s partners and sponsors include the GRIP Program, Enrichmond, Virginia Housing Development Authority, Ready Virginia, Telemundo Richmond, State Farm, the Virginia Asian Foundation, Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce, and many other community groups and organizations.
