Retirement Communities, Senior Centers and Music Therapy Programs for seniors win cash prizes in annual video showcase

Winners of Seniors Guide’s SENIORS GOT TALENT, Sponsored by Brookdale, a leading provider of senior living solutions in the United States, were announced Friday January 3, 2014.

Videos from seniors, retirement communities, assisted living, music therapy programs and senior centers from around the US submitted videos showcasing talented older adults. Winners based on total number of votes received cash prizes of up to $1,000.
Third Place winners The Garner Senior Center in Garner, North Carolina are no strangers to SENIORS GOT TALENT – having entered and won first place in 2011’s SENIORS GOT TALENT with their dance routine to popular Lady Gaga song, “Telephone”.
This year the ladies of the “G Squad”, the Garner Senior Center’s dance team, do a flawless routine to “Rumour Has It” by Adele.
Nancy Hulbert with the Garner Senior Center hopes to use the money to further the G Squad’s ability to perform.
“We won previously and bought a video camera for the senior center” says Hulbert who would be using this year’s prize money to “purchase a good, high quality boom box that we could bring with us for events where there is no access to electricity”.
TriHealth SeniorLink in Cincinnati, Ohio are first timers to SENIORS GOT TALENT. Showcasing seniors using music therapy chime bells, TriHealth SeniorLink win second place.
Another new SENIORS GOT TALENT contestant, Runk & Pratt Senior Living Communities, with communities in Smith Mountain Lake, Forest, and Lynchburg Virginia win first place. Runk & Pratt Senior Living Communities win $1,000 for their video “Don’t Stop Believin’ Music Video Cover”, lip-synching to the song made popular by Fox’s TV show, Glee.
