City Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule
City of Richmond government offices, including City Hall, will close at noon on Nov. 25 and are closed all day on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. City offices will reopen at regular business hours on Nov. 30, 2015.
All City community centers which will close at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 and will remain closed through Nov. 29. All City community centers will reopen on Nov. 30 at their normally scheduled hours. All branches of the Richmond Public Library will close at 1 p.m. on Nov. 25 and will reopen at 10 a.m. on Nov. 28. The Broad Rock Library is open on Sundays, and will open from 1 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 29.
Richmond Animal Care and Control will close at 5 p.m. on Nov. 25 and is closed on Nov. 26. The shelter will open on Nov. 27 to assist residents who are looking for missing pets or find stray animals. Current volunteers are welcome to come to the shelter between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. during this time period to socialize with shelter animals. The shelter will remain closed for adoptions until Nov. 29 at which time it will open from noon to 4 p.m.
Refuse collection will not be performed on Thursday as the City’s Solid Waste Management Division will also be closed on Nov. 26. This closure will result in a one day delay of refuse collection for residents whose refuse is normally collected on Thursday, as Thursday’s collection schedule will be performed on Nov. 27. Refuse collection for Wednesday will be picked up as scheduled.
The East Richmond Road Convenience Center will close at noon on Nov. 25 and remain closed until Nov. 30. The Hopkins Road Transfer Station will close at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 and is closed all day Nov. 26. The Hopkins Road Transfer Station will resume its normal schedule on Nov. 27.
