The City’s Office of Minority Business Development, in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration and Premier Bank, invites entrepreneurs interested in learning the basics of launching a crowdfunding campaign to register for a two-part educational workshop. The two-part workshop will be held on Monday, November 7, and Monday, November 14 from 5:30 – 8 p.m. each evening. Workshops will be held at Premier Bank in Jackson Ward, 320 North First Street, Richmond, Virginia 23261.

Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via the Internet. The crowdfunding workshops will cover the basic tools necessary to create a successful campaign, such as setting expectations, budgeting, advertising and creating a story video. Carl Knoblock, Virginia District Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration, will facilitate the workshops.

Registration is required to attend the workshops and seating is limited. Register online at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a49a4ad23a3f85-introduction1 or contact the City’s Office of Minority Business Development at (804) 646-5947.
