Enrichmond is excited to celebrate the 17th Annual Brunswick Stew and Stout Festival Saturday, November 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the historic 17th Street Farmers’ Market.
This Shockoe Bottom tradition recognizes regional stew and seasonal brews. Returning Stew Masters include Clyde Eacho, Judson Smith, Kevin and Phil Pair, Randy Bush and Wilmer Stoneman. The event will partner with Brown Distributing to bring Ardent’s Dark Rye, Hardywood’s Gingerbread Stout, Isley’s Choosy Mother, Kindred Spirits’ Pub Stout, Legend’s Porter, Lickinghole’s Black Bear, Old Bust Head’s Gold Cup, and Steam Bell’s Washingtons Vice. Beer samples will be available for $2 and full pours for $6.
As always there will be live entertainment and retail vendors. Come down and enjoy the sounds of the Robert Mabe Band from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and The Atkinsons from 2 – 4 p.m. Lawn chairs welcome!
Competition/Sale Schedule
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – The Great Stew Tasting: $1 Stew samples
noon – Stew Judging
1 – 4 p.m. – The Great Stew Sell-off: Bowls, pints, and quarts available for purchase ($4‐$10)
1:30 p.m. – Awards Ceremony: Best Traditional 1st and 2nd; Most Original 1st and 2nd; People’s Choice
There is a suggested donation of $1 for each festival attendee. Food and beverage are available for purchase, so come ready to sample stews and vote for your favorite! Beer tickets can be purchases with cash or credit, but it is recommended to have cash on hand for food vendors.
Ample parking is available. There are several parking lots in the vicinity – free and paid.
