The Coleman Institute, a BayMark Health Services Company, is pleased to announce the acceptance of Anthem Virginia commercial insurance plans for withdrawal management services at the Richmond, VA location. Covered individuals can now participate in both the uniquely comfortable outpatient withdrawal management protocol, also known as detoxification, as well as longer term naltrexone therapy for the treatment of opioid and alcohol use disorders.

“Providing access to life-saving treatment for those struggling with substance use disorders is our primary mission,” states Dr. Peter Coleman, Coleman Institute Founder and National Medical Director. “As we secure contracts with insurance providers, we improve our ability to provide that access which is an exciting thing for the Coleman Institute, but more importantly, for our patients.”

An innovative center for addiction treatment, The Coleman Institute is a highly effective, medically-supervised detoxification treatment center that does not require hospitalization. The opioid detox program utilizes medication to comfortably and quickly clear opiates from a patient’s system. Alcohol detox is a similar process, typically lasting for 3 days and utilizing medications to make patients comfortable and able to safely detoxify their systems. Long term naltrexone therapy is recommended to control cravings and help patients transition from withdrawal management into the long-term program of recovery that is right for them.

The Anthem Virginia contract will provide coverage for the withdrawal management program for opioids and alcohol, as well as for six months of naltrexone therapy and case management services to help patients stay clean and seek the long-term treatment they need for recovery and healing.
