City Offices Closed January 21 in Observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday
In observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, city government offices, including City Hall, will be closed on Monday, January 21. City offices will reopen at regular business hours on Tuesday, January 22.
Monday’s closing includes all branches of the Richmond Public Libraries. Broad Rock Library will also be closed on Sunday, January 20.
Bellemeade, Calhoun, Hotchkiss, Powhatan, Randolph and Southside Community Centers will be open from 1 – 9 p.m. on Saturday, January 19. All centers will be closed on Sunday, January 20 and Monday, January 21, and reopen Tuesday, January 22 at normal hours.
Richmond Animal Care and Control will be closed Monday, January 21, but will be hosting an adoption event Friday, January 18 and Saturday, January 19 with reduced adoption fees.
Refuse collection will not be performed on Monday, January 21 as the city’s Solid Waste Management Division will also be closed. This closure will result in a one-day delay of refuse collection for the remainder of the week, as the collection schedule will begin on Tuesday, January 22 and continue through Friday, January 25.
The East Richmond Road Convenience Center and Hopkins Road Transfer Stations are also closed on January 21. Each facility will resume its normal schedule on Tuesday.
