According to a WWBT News, Richmond, VA article (7/21), Award-winning Richmond teacher facing drunk driving charges, that Danica Millner was arrested in Colonial Heights, Virginia but still is teaching for the moment, at least, at Thomas Jefferson High School. In 2011, Millner received an award for teaching at Richmond's Thomas Jefferson High School.

The Richmond teacher was arrested along Boulevard and Ellerslie Avenue. Officers say Millner's car was speeding. Her car was clocked at 61 in a 40 mile per hour zone.

When the police stopped her, she was speaking with slurred speech, had glossy, bloodshot eyes and a strong alcohol odor. When the officers asked her to roll down her car's window, she rolled two windows down other than her driver side window.

When Millner refused a field sobriety test, she was put under arrest. She faces charges of speeding, DWI and refusal of blood or breath test.
