Chief Alfred Durham will lead his Command Staff on a walk at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 through Swansboro West. During the walk, officers will speak with community members about safety concerns they may have and what they would like to see from the Richmond Police Department.

Police will meet at the corner of Wythemar Street and Larchmont Avenue and divide into four groups to cover all areas of the neighborhood.

Swansboro West is home to a community of new families and retirees. Residents are passionate about their neighborhood and many are active within the community. Sector 211 Lt. Faith Flippo noted the importance of police presence to reduce crime in the area. The neighborhood has recently seen a rise in burglaries, property and environmental crimes.
