City Government 2016-2017 Winter Holiday Schedule
City government offices, including City Hall, will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. City offices will reopen at regular business hours on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
All City libraries will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and will be closed on Jan. 1 – 2. Libraries will resume regular business hours on Jan. 3. Broad Rock Library is normally open on Sundays, but will be closed on Jan. 1.
Beginning on Dec. 21, the City’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities’ Pine Camp Arts and Community Center will open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, with the exception of Jan. 2, when it will be closed. The following community centers will open weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the exception of Jan. 2:
Battery Park (Norrell Gym) 2100 Fendall Ave.
Bellemeade Community Center 1800 Lynnhaven Ave.
Blackwell Community Center 300 E. 15th St.
Creighton Community Center 2101 Creighton Rd.
Hickory Hill Community Center 3000 E. Belt Blvd.
Hotchkiss Community Center 701 E. Brookland Park Blvd.
Humphrey Calder Community Center 414 N. Thompson St.
Powhatan Community Center 5051 Northampton S.
Randolph Community Center 1415 Grayland Ave.
Whitcomb Community Center 2302 Carmine St.
All City community centers will resume regular operating hours on Jan. 3.
Richmond Animal Care and Control (RAC&C) will be closed Jan. 1 – 3. Current volunteers are welcome to come to the shelter between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. during this closing. RACC will also be offering $25 adoption fees through Dec. 31.
The Department of Public Works solid waste residential collection schedule for the week of Dec. 26, collection will be delayed one day and will start on Tuesday, Dec. 27 and go through Friday, Dec. 30. Also, for the week of Jan. 1, collection will be delayed one day and will start on Tuesday, Jan 2. and go through Friday, Jan. 6.
The East Richmond Road Convenience Center (ERRCC) will be closed Jan. 2, 2016 and will reopen on Jan. 3.
The Hopkins Road Transfer Station will be closed on Jan. 2. Each facility’s normal schedule will resume on Dec. 27 and Jan. 3.
