Dự kiến cải thiện cơ sở hạ tầng dành cho người đi bộ và xe đạp cho Đường Carnation Street
RICHMOND, Va. – Sở Công trình Công cộng Thành phố Richmond sẽ bắt đầu cải thiện cơ sở hạ tầng dành cho xe đạp và người đi bộ dọc theo Carnation Street từ Đường Hioaks Road đến Midlothian Turnpike trong tuần này. Dự án sẽ giúp cải thiện sự an toàn cho tất cả người sử dụng đường bộ và dự kiến sẽ quản lý tốc độ dọc hành lang tốt hơn. Dự án này là một phần trong kế hoạch triển khai lớn hơn nhằm mở rộng mạng lưới tuyến đường dành cho xe đạp hiện tại của Richmond và sau khi hoàn thành sẽ tạo ra một hành lang dài gần 6 dặm gồm các làn đường dành riêng cho xe đạp dọc theo Đường Warwick Road và Đường Carnation Street kéo dài từ Bệnh viện Chippenham đến Xa lộ Richmond Highway và Đường mòn Fall Line Trail trong tương lai .
Công việc bao gồm:
Thực hiện chuyển đổi đường bộ, bao gồm việc phân chia lại đường
Thêm làn đường dành cho xe đạp – tạo không gian dành riêng cho những người đi xe đạp hoặc xe tay ga, đồng thời giảm số làn đường phải băng qua cho những người đi bộ và tiếp cận phương tiện công cộng
Dự án này là một phần quan trọng trong cam kết của Thành phố với Vision Zero và hỗ trợ phương pháp tiếp cận đa phương thức Better Streets bằng cách thực hiện các cải tiến về an toàn như lối băng qua đường có tầm nhìn rõ ràng cho người đi bộ, đường dốc lề đường dễ tiếp cận cho người lăn bánh và không gian dành riêng cho người đi xe đạp hoặc xe tay ga.

Enhanced pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure improvements planned for Carnation Street
RICHMOND, Va. – The City of Richmond Department of Public Works will begin bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure improvements along Carnation Street from Hioaks Road to Midlothian Turnpike this week. The project will help improve safety for all roadway users and is expected to better manage speeds along the corridor. This project is part of a larger implementation plan to extend Richmond’s existing bike route network, and upon completion will result in a nearly 6-mile corridor of dedicated bike lanes along Warwick Road and Carnation Street extending from Chippenham Hospital to Richmond Highway and the future Fall Line Trail.
Work includes:
Implementing a roadway conversion, consisting of restriping
Adding buffered bike lanes – creating dedicated space for people who bike or scoot, while reducing the number of lanes to cross for people who walk and access transit
This project is an important part of the City’s commitment to Vision Zero and supports the Better Streets multimodal approach by implementing safety improvements such as high-visibility crosswalks for people who walk, accessible curb ramps for people who roll, and dedicated space for people for bike or scoot.
